What's That One...

The Rule Book... Well, The Web Page really.

Team Play

The goal of What’s That One is to be the first team to get to 21 points by correctly guessing the answer from the bad description.

First, split everyone into teams of 2 or more people. The player that last sat down to play this game will have their team go first. We will call that team the guessing team.

Have one member from the team to the left of the guessing team draw a card from the top of the deck, they will be known as the Clue Captain. Once selected, the Clue Captain will role the dice. Depending on what letter is rolled the Clue Captain will then read that clue out loud (A, B, or C). Rolling “ANY” allows the Clue Captain to choose.

Cards are worth 5 points total. Teams are allowed one guess per card, and may request a hint as needed. Each hint requested subtracts 1 point from the cards total value of 5 points. The Clue Captian can choose any one of the hints to give.

If the guessing team did not correctly identify the card, starting with the Clue Captians team and going clockwise, all other teams can take 1 guess. If a team correctly guesses the card they will receive 1 point.

The clue giving team now becomes the guessing team and the team to the left becomes the clue givers.

Party Play

The goal of party play is to be the first player to earn a total of 5 cards.

Have one person select a card from the top of the deck they will be this turns Clue Captain. Once selected, the Clue Captain will role the dice. Depending on what letter is rolled the Clue Captain will then read that clue out loud (A, B, or C). Rolling “ANY” allows the Clue Captain to choose.

The first person to guess the correct answer gets handed the card, but beware each person may only guess once. Every 30 seconds or so, the Clue Captain will read a hint from the bottom of the card. If no one guesses the answer correctly, discard the card. Have the next person clockwise select a card and repeat the gameplay until a winner has been crowned.
